Administration of Deceased Estates

Legislation determines that once a person has died their death must be reported to the Master of the High Court. The Master will then appoint an executor who will attend to the finalization of the deceased’s estate. The duties of the executor require special knowledge and skill.

This is where we can be of assistance to you. We can be appointed as executor or act as your agent where you are the executor. We will then administer and finalize the estate on your behalf.

Wills

  • A Will is one of the most important documents that each person needs to have in place
  • To be of any force and effect at date of death, your will needs to be valid.
  • The Wills act 7 of 1953 determines the formalities for a valid Will
  • Not every document purported to be a Will, will be regarded as a valid Will.
  • Events such as marriage, divorce, death of a spouse, birth of children and going on pension are just some that might necessitate updating of a Will.
  • By having your Will updated you can determine all important matters such as naming your heirs, nominating a guardian for your minor children.
  • Do you have a valid and updated will?
